European Information Technology Observatory expects the IT outsourcing market growth in Germany.
- In 2009 sales are expected to rise by 7.2 percent to 14.6 billion euros
- IT service providers notify customers' faster decision making
- Outsourcing of services leads to improved productivity
Berlin, 22 January 2009 - The demand for outsourcing is currently experiencing a strong growth. According to the new forecast of European Information Technology Observatory EITO, the sales of IT and Business Process Outsourcing in Germany this year are expected to increase by 7.2 percent to 14.6 billion euro.
"In the current difficult economic situation even companies, previously skeptical about outsourcing, think about the outsourcing of processes and services" said Martin Jetter, board member of the BITKOM. From Mr. Jetter's perspective the companies are currently focusing on their core competencies: with a view of which parts of activities are essential and which could be better handled by others.
"Outsourcing leads to a productivity surge in the economy." Mr. Jetter comments. In the current economic conditions the customers decide to outsource much faster. In the past it sometimes took more than a year before outsourcing contracts were signed. Clients prefer outsourcing projects which cut costs immediately, improve performance and payback fast. This has been revealed by a BITKOM's recent survey of leading outsourcing providers. "IT and outsourcing are the best means to overcome the crisis quickly" said Mr. Jetter.
Moreover, outsourcing extends the financial scope for companies. Jetter: "The outsourcing provider can help their customers to manage the liquidity. The monthly payments to the service providers in the initial phase are low and then rise as necessary."
